Lavya from Ambala is an accomplished Kathak Artist who started her career in dancing from a very young age. She was four years old when she was introduced towards dancing by her mother, since that time she has been excelling in this field. She is very strong, self motivated personality achieving her dreams .She believes in herself and achieved a lot in the field of dance at a very young age. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a home maker. At present she is 19 years old and pursuing Psychology(H) from S.D. College Chandigarh.
Lavya a very courageous girl with high dreams honoured with many National &
International titles.Her dream is to empower every girl around her. Besides being a wonderful & polished Artist, she is a brilliant student as well.At the age of 12 in 2016, she won a Gold Medal in International Dance Context held at Colombo, Srilanka. At the age of 15 she won KARAMVEER CHAKRA AWARD in 2019.
Dance is her passion and inherent talent by God .At the age of six she started learning hip-hop and western dance but gradually she
realised she is made for classical & folk dance. At the age of eight she started
learning folk dance like Punjabi, Rajasthani, Lavni & Haryanavi from DAD DANCE
ACADEMY, Ambala City and won many prizes.
In 2015, at the age of twelve, Lavya
joined SATYUG DARSHAN SANGEET KALA KENDRA to pursue a 6 years course
in Kathak. Lavya had participated in many competitions to showcase her dancing
skills & got recognition. In the year 2016 she received three National Awards out of which two were at Pune, Maharashtra under the banner of AKHIL BHARTIYA SANSKRUTIK SANG PUNE, GLOBAL HARMONY 2016 where she received 1stprize in Group Dance in Punjabi folk dance (Sammi) and second prize in classical dance Kathak under trio category. She won 1st position in National level dance camp in semi-classical dance form, held in Nanded Maharashtra under the banner
SAPTRANG CULTURAL FESTIVAL – 2016.
With the immense inspiration & blessings from her Kathak Guru Anju Miglani Ji she again won three National awards in the field of Kathak & Haryanavi Dance in the 32nd All India Drama & Dance Competition organised by FLYFOT Forum, Solan in the year 2018.
Apart from trophies, medals & certificates she also won many cash prizes from different competitions.
Lavya says there are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work & learning from failure. Lavya won 2nd prize in group dance Haryanavi in HARYANA KI DHOOM organised with NIT Kurukshetra and Haryana Kala Prishad in 2016 & won cash prize of Rs. 31000/-. She also participated in a Dance programme called PANIRI which was telecasted on DD Punjabi in 2016. She
won 2nd position in 'FEVER OF DANCE' in 2015 & was awarded by celebrity judge –
SIDDESH PAI (DANCE INDIA DANCE). She also won 1st position in Big Star Dance
Competition and was awarded by MANAN SACHDEVA – DID FINALIST & won cash
prize of Rs. 2100 in 2016. She also won 2nd prize in Solo Dance Comp. in JCI
Ambala & won cash prize of Rs. 1100. Lavya got 1st prize in Amaira's City Dancer
Ambala Season-1 & won cash prize of Rs. 1100 in 2021. Lavya got 3rd position in
State Level Solo Dance Comp. & Governor Award in 14 November 2017.
